Singapore, 23 February 2022 – Cheers, the convenience store chain of NTUC FairPrice, NTUC FairPrice Foundation (FairPrice Foundation), and food and beverage company Yeo Hiap Seng Ltd (Yeo Hiap Seng) marked their eighth year in collaboration to donate S$20,000 to children from disadvantaged families. This year, TOUCH Community Services (TOUCH) has been selected as the recipient of the donation to support its work with children and youths from disadvantaged backgrounds.
From 6 October to 15 November 2021, FairPrice Foundation and Yeo Hiap Seng donated $0.20 for every Yeo’s branded beverage sold at Cheers and FairPrice Xpress stores islandwide. Beyond providing these children and youths with resources and support to fulfil their potential as upstanding members in our community, this joint initiative also aims to foster a spirit of doing good within the community simply by purchasing Yeo’s beverage from Cheers and FairPrice Xpress.
Mr Chua Boon Keat, General Manager, Cheers said, “Driven by our social mission to provide a better life for the community, Cheers and FairPrice Foundation, together with our strategic partner Yeo Hiap Seng, have been extending our support to the less fortunate for the past eight years. Today, we are pleased to come together once again to announce our support to TOUCH in its mission to serve the needy and disadvantaged. We hope this would also inspire the practice of doing good within the community, to nourish generations and make life better for all.”
Ms Joyce Hope Ang, Deputy Director of Partnership & Volunteer Management; and Transformation Office, TOUCH Community Services, said, “At TOUCH, we believe in nurturing and activating the potential of every child to make a positive impact in society and be future leaders in the community. We are grateful for partners like Cheers, FairPrice Foundation and Yeo Hiap Seng who share our same conviction. Their support will go a long way to help strengthen families and enable children to pursue their dreams.”
Ms Candice Heng, Deputy General Manager, YHS (Singapore) Pte Ltd, said, “It brings great joy and honour for the Yeo’s family to be able to give back to the community, bringing positive changes into the lives of the less privileged. We are glad to be able to do so through another year of successful partnership with Cheers and FairPrice Foundation.”
